Arguments

Let me speak,
I have lots to say
even though I'm only eight.

Meal is served on the table.
Five of us around it watching news on the cable.
How was today at school?
All good, although I don't believe in god.

You'll grow one day
And you will learn.
Smiling, he said.

Well, the day has come.
I've traveled the world
Bringing souvenirs back home.

Let me speak
I have lots to say
I am now twenty-eight.

I've realized that in life
Your thoughts are only ripe
Once you hear others speak.

I wish you knew back then
The value of us engaged,
In what we call debate.
Still today, I hold no regret.

Let me speak,
I have lots to say.
For to listen,
it is never too late.
